We're Back

Due to the database server takin a dirt nap the site was down for a few days. Should be runnin better then ever now but we didn't come out of it unscathed, we lost all posts and threads made in Nov.

Savage was scared you were gonna blame him for the site going down!

Nope had nothing to do with that, it was a Power Supply surge. It took out the rack and half of the 6TB array of HDD's. Bout 12 grand in damages

I know it could have been worse but damn, that's a lot of posts! I haven't dumped my cache in a long time. I'll dig through it and see how much I can bring back. It appears all posts edited in Nov stayed intact.
I hope the surge didn't impede your business too much. I have similar issues with spikes and surges taking out my high-dollar injection pumps at the nursery, so I feel your pain.

Well, it wasn't a surge in the actual power lines, it was the PSU for one of the servers. Sometimes before a PSU goes bad it surges..
This site is the only one that lost data because I do monthly backups for this database manually (I was lazy to set it up). I have now made it so the database for this site is backed up on a daily basis. So we should never lose anything again
